Control Panel Screen Structure

To avoid any misunderstanding, please note some simple naming conventions used in the Control Panel (CP) menu/dashboard customization description.

A Control Panel screen consists of the two main parts: the menu to the left and the dashboard to the right. The links in a menu section called items duplicate the links in a corresponding section of the CP dashboard.
The Control Panel menu consists of sections.A menu section is a "container" within the menu that groups a set of items (one or more). The items containing in a section can be either shown as kind of a drop-down list or hidden.
A menu item is the single entity in the menu.
